Sunday School

July 24, 2023

The Burnside Sunday School Pumpkin Patch is growing so well.  The rain and heat seems to be accelerating the entire patch.  Hopefully they won’t be ready too early.  The kids are excited to sell them at the road, with all proceeds going to help the Cornwall Food Bank or others in need in our community.

The Central Parish Sunday Schools have been an active part of the parish for many years, and although the recent pandemic made gathering a little difficult, the children and leaders were able to meet and continue with their fellowship and learnings.  They have a lot of fun, sharing the word of God in creative and interactive ways.  Further, they work diligently to give back to the community far and near.  Recently, they were able to collect a large donation from their “Pennies from Heaven” drive for the Melissa Lank school in Africa and pictured below, the children packed a large number of Christmas shoeboxes, for Operation Christmas Child.

The Burnside Sunday School is so fortunate to have Sandra Gass taking the lead as superintendent, along with many teacher volunteers, including: Anna Bowers, Marlee Lank, Alex Stead, and Glenda Cummings

Sunday School Christmas Concert 2022

The Canoe Cove Sunday School is equally fortunate to have the leadership of Kirsten MacLaine, along with her daughters, Emma and Charlotte MacLaine as volunteer teachers.  The Sunday School students have been working on the Fruits of the Spirit this year, and the have also been challenged to do 100 acts of kindness to show God’s love!  Pictured here, you can see some of their activities/artwork on display.
