Community Outreach

The Burnside Sunday School had another successful year with the pumpkin patch.  This year brought in great sales, but also lots of help from the community, with Contessa Scott refilling the pumpkin stand and congregation purchasing pie to throw at Rev. Steven when the kids surpassed their goal.  $1000 raised for the QEH Pediatric Unit.  The kids will be going shopping soon to purchase some much needed items for the hospital.

In May, 2023, the Burnside Sunday School were hard at work planting pumpkins to start their very own pumpkin patch.  Their goal for this year is to produce as many pumpkins as they can on the patch located at the far west corner of the parking lot at Burnside in order to sell them in October.  All proceeds will go to the Cornwall foodbank or community fridges.

In June, the Burnside Sunday School raised over $1000 through a bake sale to aid the Melissa Lank School in Thurri, Kenya:

Central Parish has a great deal of focus for the people in their community.  From quietly supporting families in need to running food drives to filling shoeboxes, the congregation comes together to help lift their community, through both spiritual and financial means.
