Once again, Steven has stepped up and taken one for the team!  The Burnside Sunday school was able to beat their target of pumpkin sales and managed to raise $1000 for the QEH Pediatric Unit.  This was a combined effort of pumpkin sales, pie purchases, extra pumpkins supplied, and generous donations from around the community.  It all came together to allow the kids to throw pies at Rev. Steven.  I think the adults may have had more fun than the kids!!

What a great night celebrating Rev. Steven and all that he has accomplished in his 20 years with Central Parish and within our community!  It was a sold out crowd with over 300 people attending.  There were lots of laughs, a few tears, some great entertainment, and a good meal with so many that care for Steven and the Stead family.  Here are a few pictures to highlight the event.

Canoe Cove is all decorated for the Christmas Season.  Looking very festive!

Burnside Sunday School Pumpkin Patch

A huge thank you to the community for supporting our pumpkin patch sales.  We had a challenge out to reach $350.  If we could hit this target, Rev. Steven agreed to allow the kids to water balloon him.  We were able to surpass this goal and raised $589.75 to go to the food bank.  Please join us on the next Sunday that isn’t pouring rain (we’ve had a few rainy days) to watch as the kids soak down the reverend!

Clyde River – Family Fun Day for All

Please spread the word.  This is open to anyone in the community and should be a fun day of balloon animals, bouncy castles, food, games and lots of fun.  All are welcome.

Pumpkin Patch News:

The Sunday School Pumpkin Patch is officially planted.  All the kids worked hard to get them in the ground today and the senior class did a fantastic job of painting the sign.  Now, let’s hope they grow and the birds stay out of it!

They will be selling their harvest at the road next fall.  All proceeds will go to the Cornwall foodbank or community fridges.

Seder Supper

Burnside hosted a Seder Supper on Thursday, April 6th with a fantastic time of fellowship and worship.  We had a high attendance from both churches, sharing a meal, stories, and prayers.
